Tottenham handed major Randal Kolo Muani injury blow as scenes spotted after win vs Brentford
Thomas Frank will be wondering what happened to his luck after the latest update on Randal Kolo Muani.
Tottenham remain without Dominic Solanke, as well as the likes of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, and further injuries could not come at a worse time for the under-pressure manager.
Despite a plethora of injuries, Tottenham overcame Brentford in a 2-0 win on Saturday, 6 December, with goals coming from Richarlison and Xavi Simons in the opening 45 minutes.
Brentford were lacking any real threat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the same could be said about Kolo Muani, who managed 74 minutes before being replaced by Wilson Odobert.
It was clear that the striker had picked up a slight injury, and any concerns have just been exacerbated.
Thomas Frank should be concerned for Randal Kolo Muani
While waiting for the players to exit the stadium, reliable journalist Ryan Taylor took to X (6 December), writing: “Randal Kolo Muani has just limped through the mixed zone.
“The Frenchman was also moving gingerly just before he was subbed. Slight concern for Spurs given how excellent he has been in recent weeks.”
Supporters have appreciated the effort shown by the 27-year-old, especially his two goals and assist against PSG last month, but his loan spell has suffered a new setback.
Kolo Muani has started each of Spurs’ last four matches across all competitions, but ahead of a Champions League clash with Slavia Prague, the striker might now be unavailable.
Tottenham fans to find relief in striker’s injury history
Kolo Muani’s injury history has been pretty spotless up until his move to North London, where he missed 11 matches with a muscle problem, seeing him only return last month.
Since returning, though, he has become an integral part of Frank’s plans, and that could say a lot about his future, given that the centre-forward is currently on loan from PSG.
Football Insider understands that Tottenham are interested in Igor Thiago, a striker who blanked at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, but he has been on fire for the rest of the campaign.
The Lilywhites have struggled when it comes to finding a trusted striker since Harry Kane‘s departure, and the search continues despite Kolo Muani’s small spells of success so far this term.
