Tottenham idol ‘surprised’ by Son Heung-min after Antonio Conte admission
Paul Robinson is “surprised” by the start Tottenham forward Son Heung-min has made to the 2022-23 campaign.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the 30-year-old “has been very quiet” in the opening stages of the season.
Son is yet to score in his five Premier League appearances this term.

As quoted by Football.London (28 August), Antonio Conte backed his faltering striker to return to his goalscoring best in the coming weeks.
The Spurs manager admitted Son will be “disappointed” not to be scoring but insisted the player has his and his teammates full trust.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Son’s start to the season, Robinson said: “I have been surprised.
“He has been very quiet. It is a test for him now because there is two players on the bench who can come in and play in his position. Conte has options.
“It is too early to judge a player of his quality though. We know how good he is.

“At the back of his mind he might be worried that he will get dragged if he has not scored or got an insist in the first hour. Conte has the likes of Richarlison and Lucas Moura on the bench. The competition might be putting a doubt in the back of Son’s mind.
“Son is not guaranteed to play a full game every week. But when you look at the numbers and his relationship with Kane, Son is the first name on the teamsheet.”
