It is understood that the Argentina Under-20s captain gained an Italian passport in December, meaning he can play within the EU without having to gain a work permit.
That may put the Italian clubs in pole position to sign the South American defender, who has started to break into the San Lorenzo first-team this season.
Sesesi has made nine appearances in all competitions this term and scored one goal.
His side San Lorenzo are currently third in the Argentinean Primera Division table. eight points behind leaders Boca Juniors.
Football Insider verdict
It seems that Mauricio Pochettino is looking to his home nation once again to sign up a young defender after Juan Foyth arrived in North London last year from Estudiantes. Senesi may well be the next big thing to come out of Argentina, but it looks as though Tottenham and Everton may miss out on signing him. With Senesi having an Italian passport and an Italian agency, there’s a very strong chance that he will go to one of the Serie A clubs, who are restricted in the amount of non-EU players they can sign. Senesi would be a South American talent who has an EU passport so they will be able to sign him hassle free.
