Manchester United winger Anthony Martial is set to reject a new contract at Manchester United, alerting a host of clubs to his availability, according to a report.
The Telegraph has revealed that Spurs, Juventus, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid are all keeping tabs on the situation with the player’s contract expiring in 2019.
The French international has grown frustrated by the lack of game time he is getting down the left of the United attack, where he is vying for a place in the side alongside Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford – but he is happy with life in the North.
And Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a huge fan of the 22-year-old Frenchman but the relationship between the two clubs is not a good one.
Martial moved to Manchester from Monaco in 2015 for £44million and despite only make 16 starts in the Premier League this season, he still has nine goals to his name.
Football Insider verdict:
With Martial’s contract due to end in 2019, Tottenham should be able to get the 22-year-old for a reasonable price should they up their pursuit of the winger. And there would be room for him in the side too. With Son Heung-Min often deployed as a secondary striker or as an out and out striker, it leaves the left-wing void of a real attacking threat and the Manchester United player would fill that gap. Martial has plenty of options though, with the likes of Juventus and Atletico Madrid all eyeing the player, Daniel Levy would have a lot of work to do to convince the winger that North London should be his destination.
