Tottenham insider ‘can’t believe’ Conte after ‘unthinkable’ development
John Wenham has been blown away by Antonio Conte’s impact at Tottenham after his side secured another win.
Spurs insider Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, insists Conte’s side have been “unbelievable”.
Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Boxing Day means they have taken 14 points from a possible 18 in the league under Conte.
Spurs have risen to fifth in the table and have three games in hand on Arsenal, who sit in fourth.
Wenham can’t believe the turnaround Conte has inspired.
“We have been unbelievable,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Cynics will say we haven’t played the best teams but we are playing well and getting the job done.
“We got another clean sheet yesterday and the play was really positive.
“The mood around the club is so positive. Even when Mourinho came in there were people who were negative about it.
“As the weeks go by I keep thinking, ‘how the hell did we get this guy?’.
“On what planet have we managed to do this? To go from Nuno to Conte is unbelievable.
“The improvement in the players is remarkable. We are getting results against Liverpool without our strongest team.
“We’ve now battered Palace, who gave us a really hard time in the reverse fixture.
“We’ve taken 14 points from 18 in the Premier League, that was unthinkable under Nuno.”
Tottenham are next in action against Southampton on Tuesday (28 December).
The Saints also won on Boxing Day, beating West Ham 3-2.
