Tottenham insider hails Moura after ‘revelation’
Lucas Moura was a “revelation” against Crystal Palace and is finally getting the credit he deserves from Tottenham fans.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Moura, 29, scored and provided two assists as Tottenham beat Crystal Palace 3-0 on Boxing Day
The attacker now has four goals and four assists to his name since Antonio Conte joined the club.
Wenham insists Moura’s attacking stats don’t matter as he is the player creating chances in the buildup to goals.
“Lucas was a revelation yesterday,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Just on those stats, Moura is the reason Kane scored so many goals last year.
“He does a lot of the work that leads to the others getting the credit.
“I have never been too concerned about his goal and assist numbers, I know what he brings to the side.
“He is always selected in the big matches, he plays for the badge, he cares.
“Hopefully he can continue these number and his confidence can only grow.
“Personally I think he should be back in the Brazil squad. It makes no sense to me as to why he isn’t there.
“I’m just glad to see him finally getting credit, he is so underrated.”

In 13 appearances under previous boss Nuno Espirito Santo, Moura only contributed one goal and one assist.
He has scored 37 goals in 179 total outings for Tottenham.
