Tottenham insider rubbishes ‘nightmare’ claims as Conte handed double injury boost
Tottenham have what it takes to survive after it was revealed they have a busier festive schedule than any other Premier League side.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham face six games in just 17 days at one point in December with Leicester City the only other side to face such a hectic schedule.
Both sides are participating in the Carabao Cup over this period, leaving them less time to rest between games.
Hectic festive schedules are a yearly occurrence and in November 2018, Sky Sports reported a lack of a Premier League winter break is a key factor in players picking up injuries during the colder months.
However, Wenham insists Tottenham will avoid an injury “nightmare” due to their strength in depth.
“I really like those periods, I’m really excited,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s a lot of football so there is loads to talk about and more chances for the fans to get to the games, it’s great.
“There were training pictures released last week that showed Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon are back from injury.
“You could see them in the image of the two-minutes silence.
“So we do have depth in certain areas. We will need to utilise them if we are to be successful in that period.
“I can see why some people would see it as a nightmare and they might complain that it’s us who have ti the worst.

“But that’s football, it happens every year.
“I think we can survive through the games as long as we look after the squad.“
In other news, Tottenham fans have been told they can expect movement on their club’s hunt for Dusan Vlahovic in the near future.
