Tottenham insider shares ‘definite’ Pedro Porro to Man City claim
Man City are eyeing a move to re-sign Tottenham star Pedro Porro amid growing concerns about Kyle Walker’s future.
This is according to former Man United, Tottenham and West Ham scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the right-back is “definitely” on the club’s list of targets.
The 25-year-old spent three years at City between 2019 and 2022, but never made an appearance for the club despite them having paid around £10million to buy him from Girona.
One year after his move to Sporting, Porro joined Tottenham for a fee of £40million in the summer of 2023, having initially joined on loan during the January window.
Since then, he has made 64 appearances for the North London club and has established himself as a key player under Ange Postecoglou.
Meanwhile, Kyle Walker’s performances have become a cause for concern at the Etihad as City’s captain has made a number of mistakes in the opening stages of the season.
This has set alarm bells off within City’s scouting department, with a new right-back now topping their list of priorities in the transfer market.
Brown’s claims come just days after Football Insider revealed that City are laying the groundwork to complete a deal with Spurs for the wing-back.
Man City plotting move to re-sign Pedro Porro from Tottenham
Spurs are expected to demand a high fee for the right-back amid City’s emerging interest as a result of his important role within their team and system.
Brown, who spent over a decade at Man United during their most successful period and has a wealth of experience in recruitment, insisted that City have identified “multiple players” including Porro to help strengthen at right-back.
“He’s definitely one of the names on their list,” he told Football Insider.
“It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them get that one over the line at some stage.
“They’re looking at strengthening in that position, and it’s an area they’ve identified as a potential weakness in their squad after Walker’s mistakes this season.
“The recruitment team there have identified multiple players across the world who they feel could be an asset and improve upon what they’ve got.
“Porro has been impressive for Tottenham over a long period of time now, not just recently.
“Those performances have caught the eye, and if Spurs aren’t going to be successful, he could move on.

“The interest from Man City comes as no surprise so they could make a move for him, yeah.
“He’s a player they already know well.
“They handle their business very well in the transfer market and I’m told they’ve been watching him closely on the pitch but they also know what type of character he is.”
