Tottenham insider’s verdict on Ndombele playing v Leeds after Gold reveal

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte doesn’t deserve all the credit amid fresh claims over Tanguy Ndombele’s improved fitness.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

As per Alasdair Gold (12 November), club staff believe Ndombele, 24, is currently in the best physical condition he has been in at Tottenham.

The midfielder has made 11 appearances this season but only completed the full 90 minutes twice.

One of those outings was in Spurs’ EFL Cup win over Wolves at Molineux in which he scored his side’s second goal.

He also scored a brilliant long-range effort against Newcastle United on 17 October.

Wenham has previously complained about Ndombele’s fitness and is delighted to hear the latest on his fitness.

“It can’t all be down to Conte,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“We saw him complete a full game for the first time in forever in the game up at Newcastle.

“Of course he scored in that game as we won 3-2. His fitness levels have obviously been on the up for the last few weeks.

“Hopefully he has used this time over the break to build up that fitness even more.

“Hopefully we can see a fully fit and firing Ndombele get some minutes against Leeds on Sunday.

Ndombele has made 86 appearances and score 10 goals since joining the club in 2019.

He remains the club’s record signing.

In other news, Tottenham fans have been told they can expect movement on their club’s hunt for Dusan Vlahovic in the near future.
