Tottenham issues 'bizarre' Troy Parrott verdict after deal agreed
Tottenham should not be concerned by Troy Parrott’s Championship goal drought while on loan at Preston North End.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Parrott, 20, joined Preston on loan on 25 July and has so far made seven Championship appearances without finding the net.
Despite a lack of goals, Wenham is not concerned about the striker’s development.
“Preston have played seven games this season and something like six of them have been 0-0,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“That’s just bizarre. There is a bit of frustration, I’m sure Troy is frustrated. He does work so hard for the team, it’s not just about scoring goals for him.
“He did get one in the Carabao Cup for them so I hope he can start to score in the league. He works so hard at one end of the pitch and if he can just add a couple of goals then Preston could have been much higher in the table.
“I hope the goals do come for him but I have no concerns about him. He has a great mentality and the goals will come.”
While on loan at MK Dons in the 2021-22 season, Parrott made 46 appearances for the club and scored 10 goals.
The striker was used in a deeper number 10 role, limiting his goalscoring chances.
