Sources: Dejan Kulusevski move to Tottenham is ‘99% done’

Tottenham are pushing ahead with signing Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent deal regardless of whether he activates the clauses in his contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The Sweden international, 22, has been a big favourite of the Spurs faithful since signing in January 2022 on an 18-month loan-to-buy deal.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham are obliged to pay £30million to the Sweden international’s parent club Juventus if he plays at least 45 minutes of 20 Premier League games this season and they finish in the top four.

That possibility is still on track despite the disappointment of Saturday’s 1-0 Premier League defeat at Wolves.

Kulusevski made the starting XI for the eighth consecutive league match and played 77 minutes before making way for Lucas Moura.

He now has played at least 45 minutes in each of the 16 league starts he has made this season, among 24 appearances in all competitions.

Even if the clauses stipulated in the loan-to-buy deal are not met, Spurs will push ahead with signing Kulusevski on a permanent deal in the main summer window.

They held back from activating their buy option in January, as well as last summer, to concentrate their resources on completing another signings, including the likes of Richarlison and

According to one well-placed source, the Kulusevski transfer is already “99 per cent” done. That is understood to include the contract terms as well as the deal with Juventus.

Kulusevski has emerged as nailed-on starter if fit and available, and is well ahead in the pecking order of the likes of Richarlison, Moura and January loan signing Arnaut Danjuma.
