Tottenham ‘likely’ to seal Pedro Porro deal ‘soon’ after updates – pundit
Tottenham are “likely” to sign Pedro Porro in January as Antonio Conte is “desperate” for attacking reinforcements.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ plans for the January transfer window.
Portuguese outlet CM Journal (23 December) claim Tottenham are ‘determined’ to sign former Manchester City man Porro and the report also claims they have devised a plan to enhance their position in negotiations with Sporting.

This plan would involve scrapping the 50% sell-on clause in Marcus Edwards’ Sporting contract in return for a discount on Porro’s eventual fee.
The winger, whose contract in Lisbon runs until the end of June 2025, is said to be valued at £26million by the Portuguese club.
McManus would not be surprised to see Spurs boost their attacking options in January.
“Harry Kane is carrying Tottenham at the moment,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Son isn’t scoring, Kulusevski has been injured, Richarlison is injured now as well, I would not be surprised if they went out and got this guy.
“Tottenham have a lot of options when everyone is fit and in form. Unfortunately for them only one of their players is fit and in form.
“Some new blood could be just what they need to get back up and running. I know they need defenders but Tottenham have to back Conte this window, he’s desperate for new players.

“If Porro is who he wants then they have to go out and get him. It would be a statement that the club are backing the manager.
“I would say that’s a likely transfer that could happen sooner rather than later because there is a lot of talk about it and Spurs could really do with a player like him.”
In other news, Tottenham have been told by an expert to sign the ‘next Alisson Becker’ after source’s transfer reveal.
