Tottenham are lining up a £20million bid for West Ham wing-back Arthur Masuaku, according to a report.
The Sun on Sunday claim the north Londoners and Chelsea are set to table formal offers for the wide man and that he could make a switch across the capital in the forthcoming transfer window.
Masuaku, 24, has made 27 appearances in all competitions for West Ham thus summer, scoring one goals and supplying three assists.
He is a left-back by trade but has played a lot on the wing this term, including in the team’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea last weekend.
With Masuaku in the squad, West Ham have not lost a Premier League game since before Christmas.
Football Insider verdict
A section of Spurs fans might not be too impressed in the pursuit of a player from bitter rivals West Ham, but Masuaku’s star is on the rise following his excellent form since the turn of the year. The DR Congo international is more than just a solid left-back, he has proved he can also dazzle further up the pitch. Mobile, fast and technically adept, the wide man has been instrumental in the Hammers’ recent improvement and could be a reasonable replacement for Danny Rose in the summer window. There might be better options out there, but Masuaku would be affordable and could rotate with Ben Davies next season.
