Tottenham tipped for ‘clever’ Wilfried Zaha plan after source’s reveal – Robinson

Paul Robinson has claimed Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha would be a welcome addition at Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 30-year-old could be utilised by Antonio Conte as a left wing-back.

Zaha‘s contract at Selhurst Park expires at the end of June next year.

Sources told Football Insider on (13 December) that Spurs are plotting a move for the ex-Man United star.

The London club are understood to be keen on signing Zaha on a free once his contract expires.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the prospect of Zaha joining, Robinson said: “There will be a lot of clubs in the mix for Zaha because he has done so well.

“He has to take the next step in his career now. I know it didn’t work out at Man United but he is a different player now. He has been brilliant for Crystal Palace.

“Champions League football is the next step up and the next challenge for him.

“If Spurs are in the mix for him, I think it might be with a view to him playing as a left wing-back. [Ryan] Sessegnon and [Ivan] Perisic have done well but Zaha would be another great option. I think that would be a clever move.

“There is also the possibility of Lucas Moura leaving so there is definitely room for Zaha at Spurs. He would provide serious competition for places.

“But, should Zaha be a priority? I’m not so sure. I think right wing-back and left centre-half should and will be the areas of focus.”

In other news, Tottenham have been backed to sell a star and sign Stefan de Vrij after source’s update.
