Tottenham can kiss 18/19 top-four goodbye if reported interest in midfield maestro not squashed
Tottenham must do all they can to keep hold of Christian Eriksen as interest from Barcelona has once again emerged.
The Dane is one of the best players at the club and without the creative midfielder in the ranks they can forget about making the Champions League next season.
Sport has revealed that the La Liga giants were keen on the Spurs ace in January but instead went for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.
The 26-year-old would be an ideal partner in the centre of the park alongside the former Reds attacker in a partnership that would be amongst the best in the world.
There has been a lot spoken about the growing unrest at the club in the aftermath of club owner Daniel Levy’s yearly wage revelation, where it emerged the supremo earned £6.013million in 2016-17 – more than double his salary from the previous campaign.

And Eriksen is among a group of players due to hold talks with the club regarding his future at the club as his current deal in North London expires in 2020.
But, after having been informed that Spurs cannot afford to pay the wages of the so-called richer clubs, it could spell the end for a number of players who are keen to ensure their careers don’t go by trophy-less.
The 26-year-old is one of Spurs’ best players – if not the best – so there is no surprise to see him being linked to Barcelona.
And let’s face it – if one of Real Madrid or Barca come calling, you don’t turn an opportunity like that down.
