Insider: Tottenham attacker duo set to quit in the summer

By Harry Sykes

Youthful Tottenham attacking duo Will Miller and Ryan Loft are set to leave the club in the summer, according to a club insider.

The unofficial Tottenham academy account claims attacking midfielder Miller, 20, and striker Loft, 19, are both in line to sever their ties with the London giants when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

The duo are among six Spurs academy products who have agreed loan deals during the January transfer window along with goalkeeper Luke McGee, defender Connor Ogilvie and striker Shayon Harrison.

Centre-back Anton Walkes became the sixth to temporarily find a new club when it was announced by Tottenham on Thursday that he has agreed a six-month loan with MLS club Atalanta.

Asked by a Spurs fan about the futures of the first five to seal transfers, the THFC academy account replied that it was set to be the end of the road at White Hart Lane for Loft and Miller in the summer.

Loft is at League Two outfit Stevenage for the remainder of the campaign, while Miller extended his initial half-season loan at Championship outfit Burton until the end of 2016-17.

Loft has made three appearances for Stevenage to date, spread across 52 minutes of action.

Miller has played 13 matches for Nigel Clough’s Burton, scoring a single goal.

The attacking pair are among a crop of exciting Spurs academy products in their late teens who include attacking midfielder Josh Onomah, 19, centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers, 18, playmaker Marcus Edwards, 17, and right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, 19.

The academy account has a growing reputation as a reliable source of Spurs news, and has broken a number of stories about youth-team players and coaches at the club, including the revelation last summer that Edwards had committed to a new White Hart Lane deal.

The account also reported on Wednesday night that Walkes “is likely to join an MLS side on loan” after jetting to the US at the start of the week “for talks” about a transfer.  Tottenham then officially announced on Thursday afternoon that the 19-year-old had agreed a moved to the States to Atalanta.
