Tottenham news: Agbonlahor hits back at Roy Keane as controversial Richarlison footage emerges

Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Tottenham striker Richarlison and his Brazil teammates should be free to dance as they see fit.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker hit back at “boring” pundits who have criticised Brazil for their antics during their 4-1 demolition of South Korea earlier this week (5 December).

Richarlison scored his side’s third goal and celebrated by performing his trademark pigeon celebration with manager Tite.

After the rest of the goals the likes of Neymar, Lucas Paqueta, Vinicius Jr. and Raphinha celebrated with a choreographed routine.

Roy Keane was among the fiercest of critics telling ITV that it was “disrespectful” and he “couldn’t believe what he was watching”.

“I don’t have a problem with it because it’s always been the Brazilian way,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.

“People were talking about during the security briefing for Qatar, asking ‘Are the Brazilians going to be able to samba?’

“It’s what they are used to doing.

“I don’t think anyone in that Brazil squad cares about anyone but the Brazilian public. They are doing it for their people and are entertaining them.

“I’ve got no problem with it but the only thing that could come back to haunt them is if they play a team and lose.

“If I’m playing against Brazil and score, I’m dancing like they do. If I’m Mbappe and I score, I’m grabbing Dembele and Griezzman and having a dance.

“Players might see it as being mugged off and use it against them. They’ve got to be careful.

“You’ve got to go and win the World Cup now because it will be painful if you don’t win it and you’re crying instead of dancing.

“I’m all for it. Some of the older generation, people like Roy Keane, Simon Jordan and Jason Cundy are boring old men. I bet on Christmas day they don’t have any music on and are just sitting there in silence.

“It’s their charisma. Even the manager getting involved, I don’t mind it. It could be his last World Cup, let them enjoy it.”

In other news, a young Tottenham attacker has arrived at his new club after being told to leave.
