Tottenham news: Club ‘on the phone with Nike’ after official announcement – Insider

Tottenham will be “on the phone to Nike” after the announcement of their pre-season tour to South Korea.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

On February 15 Tottenham announced they will travel to South Korea for their 2022/23 pre-season tour.

Spurs have a massive fanbase in South Korea due to the popularity of Heung-Min Son and So-hyun Chan who both play for the club.

Wenham expects Tottenham will want their new kits released earlier than usual so the club can capitalise on the exposure of a pre-season tour in Asia.

“Almost everyone in South Korea supports Tottenham,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Tottenham will have to get on the phone with Nike to get their kit out early for once.

“There could be mass sales out there with the amount of Tottenham fans who will want to wear the new kit.

“We are historically slow at getting our kits on sale and by the time they are out they have been leaked all over the internet anyway.

“The club need to make sure those kits are ready in time so we can get out there and that is again something that can help to raise the club’s profile.”

Tottenham’s previous plans to travel to South Korea were halted by the pandemic.

The club’s pre-season fixtures before the current campaign were based in the UK for the same reason.

In other news, a club are plotting a raid to sign a Tottenham star Jose Mourinho called a ‘genius’ and £25million will seal the deal.
