Tottenham news: Man United could offer role to Hitchen as Pochettino reunion on the cards – sources
Man United could look to offer ex-Tottenham chief Steve Hitchen a role on their recruitment team if Mauricio Pochettino becomes their new manager this summer, Football Insider understands.
Pochettino is the favourite to replace Ralf Rangnick in the Old Trafford dugout when he takes on a consultancy role at the end of the season.
A United source has told Football Insider that Pochettino would be in favour of a reunion with former Spurs colleague Hitchen.

The two had an excellent working relationship at Tottenham and have remained in touch since the Argentine’s exit in November 2019.
Pochettino has since taken over European aristocrats Paris Saint-Germain but speculation continues that he could return to the Premier League this summer.
He is on United’s target list of managers and they are expected to explore the possibility of luring him from France.
Hitchen ended his lengthy association with Spurs last Wednesday (2 February), when it was announced that he had left his position as technical performance director with immediate effect.
The 45-year-old’s responsibilities had been diluted following the appointment last summer of Fabio Paratici as the managing director.
Paratici is in charge of transfer negotiations, and that saw Hitchen become less influential at the club.
He has subsequently been linked with Everton, who have been without a director of football following the sacking of Marcel Brands earlier this year.

Hitchen was a scout at Tottenham between 2005 and 2010.
He returned to the club in a more senior role in 2017, heading up their recruitment for a number of years.
In other news, Tottenham could complete the “shock” signing of Chelsea star in his 30s after update.
