Tottenham news: Paul Robinson reveals why Cristian Romero is a ‘phenomenal’ player
Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Tottenham defender Cristian Romero after the win over Brighton.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the “phenomenal” 23-year-old could play “in any top four side”.
As captured by club media (6 February), Romero starred on his return from injury in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Brighton.

Speaking to Football.London after the win (5 February), Conte hailed the impact of the returning Argentina international.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Romero’s display, Robinson said:
“His performance yesterday proved that he’s the best centre-half at the club.
“I think they probably tried to get one in during the window but it didn’t work out. But in Romero they have got a phenomenal defender. He makes others around him better.
“What they have got isn’t enough. They need more but he is certainly the best that they have got. He could play in any side in the top four of the Premier League. He is a Champions League player, a top player.
“If Spurs are going to go places Romero is the type of player they will need to keep and build around.”

Tottenham signed Romero from Atalanta in August of last year.
He has made 14 appearances for the Lilywhites to date.
