Tottenham news: Pundit shares 'shock' Mauricio Pochettino claim
Mauricio Pochettino will replace Antonio Conte if he leaves Tottenham for PSG.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ managerial situation.
According to The Times (24 April), Conte is interested in replacing Pochettino at the Parc des Princes as his job comes under increasing threat.
While Conte shot down links to PSG on Friday (29 April), labelling them “fake news”, (football.london) he again refused to commit his future to Spurs.
The Italian would only concede that he will discuss his future at the end of the season.
If Conte does go, McAvennie insists Pochettino will be appointed as his replacement.

“Well, Poch and Levy apparently get on, which shocks me but there you go,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I wouldn’t work under Levy but that’s just me. If Poch likes it then fair enough.
“It’s a top job, there is no doubt about it. So he will be interested. It’s a win for the club as well.
“There will be a lot of angry fans if Conte leaves so bringing back a popular manager might help with the fans.
“A lot of the players know him as well so there is that. I also think he’s probably a better manager now as well.
“He’s been over in France and worked with Messi and Mbappe, he will have learned so much.”
Get French Football News report (24 April) that chairman Daniel Levy has maintained contact with the former Spurs boss and will try and lure him back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Pochettino departed the north London club in November 2019, just months after losing in the Champions League final against Liverpool.
