Tottenham news: This may be real reason Conte wants Sergio Reguilon out after source’s reveal – pundit
Alex McLeish has suggested Antonio Conte wants to sign a more physically imposing left-back for Tottenham after giving Sergio Reguilon the green light to leave.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 25-year-old, who stands at 5’10”, lacks “defensive height and stature”.
A recruitment source told Football Insider on Tuesday (22 March) that Conte is open to offers for Reguilon this summer as he looks to sign a new left-back.

The Spain international could be sold to raise transfer funds and free up a squad spot for a new arrival.
McLeish insisted Reguilon has shown his attacking talents as a wing-back while at Spurs.
However, he questioned whether the full-back has the physicality Conte is looking for.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I wasn’t sure about him. I saw him at the weekend and I do feel there are better left-backs out there.
“Reguilon had a good game. There were a few times where he got forward.
“He’s not the biggest in the world, is he? I might be doing him a disservice. When you’re talking about defensive height and stature, possibly Conte’s thinking that way.
“Mourinho didn’t like anybody in his back four less than six foot two. It could be something as simple as that.”
Reguilon has played 65 times for Spurs since joining from Real Madrid in 2020.

He has played 18 times during Antonio Conte’s 27 games in charge of Tottenham.
The Italian boss also has Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies to call upon at left-back.
