‘Tottenham open new manager talks – Ange Postecoglou has lost the plot’
Tottenham are expected to replace Ange Postecoglou in the dugout this summer despite still having Europa League glory to play for this season.
Spurs are scouring the overseas market for their next manager – but also have Marco Silva, Andoni Iraola and Thomas Frank on their shortlist.
Postecoglou has clashed with the Tottenham fans on several occasions this term and appeared to do so again when he cupped his ear to the away support after Spurs scored against Chelsea last week.
The Australian is only under contract in north London until June 2026 and is not likely to cling on if he doesn’t win the Europa League this term.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed talks will be going on behind the scenes as Spurs decide on their next appointment.
Postecoglou situation now ‘irreparable’, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed Postecoglou has “lost the plot” – and his relations with the fanbase are now “irreparable”.
Tottenham sit 14th in the Premier League and kick off their Europa League quarter-final first leg against Frankfurt at home this week (10 April).

Wyness insisted a new appointment would give the club an opportunity to mend their own relationship with the fans following a series of high-profile protests.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s not a good situation.
“Postecoglou seems to have lost the plot. Lovable old Aussie Ange has become Grumpy Ange.
“The relationship has broken down with the fans and it now seems irreparable.
“He knows it, everyone knows that Spurs will be moving for a new manager.
“I’m sure there are talks already going on behind the scenes.
“We’ve discussed previously about Iraola or Silva at Bournemouth or Fulham. Both of those sides still have something to play for, so there won’t be any moves immediately.
“That move will give the club a chance to catch their breath and mend the relationship with the fans.”

‘Richarlison certain to leave Tottenham’
Meanwhile, ex-Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider (7 April) that Richarlison is not seen as a part of the long-term plans for the future at Tottenham.
Everton are one of the clubs interested in a move to re-sign the Brazilian, who remains very highly-regarded on Merseyside despite his exit in 2022.
He has made just 14 appearances for Postecoglou’s side this term – scoring three goals.
