Tottenham plan to accelerate Ivan Toney move after ‘major’ injury blow
Tottenham are considering making a move to sign Ivan Toney during the January transfer window as frustrations continue to grow about their squad.
Thomas Frank’s side drew 2-2 with Man United at the weekend, despite having led 2-1 until the 96th minute, leading to ongoing frustrations among the supporters.
One key issue for the boss has surrounded his lack of a regular goalscorer, with the likes of Richarlison and Mathys Tel struggling to provide a consistent source of goals.
As a result, Tottenham have been linked with Ivan Toney, who is believed to be considering a return to the Premier League in a bid to return to the England squad.
Football Insider revealed on 28 October that Toney could be interested in joining Tottenham, but there are no guarantees he will leave Al-Ahli, as he is happy in Saudi Arabia.

Tottenham could accelerate plans to sign Ivan Toney
Football Insider revealed on 22 October that Tottenham will struggle to sign a striker in January and may be forced to stick with their current options.
However, Ivan Toney’s potential availability has set Spurs’ recruitment team on alert and they could now opt to step up their pursuit of the England international.
That is according to former Tottenham and Man United senior scout Brown, who remains very well-connected at his former clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 29-year-old striker’s relationship with Frank could prove key to getting the deal done.
“Whether Tottenham can sign a new striker depends on who’s available,” he told Football Insider.
“I’m told it’s a position they want to strengthen, and I think that’s been made even more important because of the injury against Man United.
“The first name who really comes to mind is Ivan Toney, because there’s been a lot of talk about him and whether he might come back to the Premier League.
“He has a good relationship with Frank and they’ve worked well together before, so Tottenham would be a good destination for him if he decided to return.

“It’s certainly a move I can see happening, like I said, because of the injury situation there.
“I think their need for a new striker has become even more prevalent, so that could force their hand if they were previously on the fence about it.”
However, Football Insider revealed on 24 October that Toney’s “huge” wages could deter Tottenham, as they would be unable to match his Saudi Pro League pay packet.
Randal Kolo Muani suffers ‘major’ injury vs Man United
Mick Brown told Football Insider on 11 November that Tottenham have “serious concerns” after Randal Kolo Munani suffered a “major” injury blow against Man United.
Tottenham expect to be missing Kolo Muani for around eight weeks, but it could be a number of months if he requires surgery on what is a major injury.
This has only added to Frank‘s frustrations, with key players spending lengthy spells on the sidelines already plaguing him in the early days of his Spurs career.

Kolo Muani has made just eight appearances for Tottenham so far, having missed the start of the season with a muscle injury, and will now be ruled out again.
Alongside Dominic Solanke undergoing surgery on his ankle last month, Spurs are in a difficult situation with regard to their attacking options and now have huge concerns.
