Tottenham plan to sell 28-yr-old & sign Tyler Dibling for £10m extra
Tyler Dibling’s £55million transfer fee could be facilitated if Tottenham Hotspur sell one of their big names, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what his sources have told him about Tottenham’s long-winded pursuit of Dibling.
Spurs saw a £35m bid for the 19-year-old knocked back in January by Southampton, and Football Insider revealed last month that Tottenham were told they’ll have to pay as much as £100m for Dibling.
That price tag has since retreated to a more realistic £55m, but sources have told Football Insider that Tottenham still see Saints’ valuation as too high and are hopeful they can still strike a deal for £40–45m.
However, Football Insider sources have also stated that Richarlison is one player who could be “moved on” this summer and open the door for Dibling’s arrival, just three years after the Brazilian’s £60m move.
Tottenham’s victory in the Europa League Final means that they will once again compete on multiple fronts next term, and Football Insider sources see Dibling as a player who fits their strategy “perfectly”.

Dibling transfer to form part of Tottenham ‘restructure’
Football Insider revealed on Friday (30 May) that Tottenham have no plans to stump up the £55m Southampton have demanded for Dibling this summer, with the relegated Saints unlikely to budge.
Speaking on the new Inside Track, O’Rourke said that while Spurs remain hopeful they can barter Southampton down to a more feasible asking price, Richarlison’s exit could prove crucial.
“Spurs bid £35million in January, which Southampton quickly rejected”, he told Football Insider.
“With Southampton suffering relegation, it’s going to be really hard for them to keep hold of the teenager.
“That valuation of £55million asking price might be too high… Spurs will be hoping they can negotiate with Southampton and get him for £40–£45million.
“[Dibling] fits Tottenham’s strategy perfectly, signing the best young talent and giving them first-team football to make an instant impact.
“With Son staying, Dibling linked, and Richarlison likely to be moved on… there’s got to be some restructuring at Tottenham this summer.
“The domestic campaign was awful… the squad depth and quality has to be addressed and must improve.
“You look at Chelsea – Enzo Maresca’s picked two teams, so Spurs must build for multi-front competition.”

Richarlison transfer to kick off summer of change at Tottenham
Although David Moyes has poured water on the prospect of a return to Everton for Richarlison this summer, Tottenham certainly won stand in their number nine’s way if an opportunity to leave crops up.
Former Spurs and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider earlier this month that Mathys Tel, Cristian Romero and Richarlison will all be up for sale amid an overhaul of Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
With the likes of Ben Davies also seemingly bound for the exit door and Postecoglou’s future also under a cloud despite his Europa League success, expect Tottenham’s team both on and off the field to look unrecognisable next season.
