Tottenham player ratings v Bournemouth: 24-year-old is stunning 9/10
By Danny Wright
Football Insider rates the Tottenham players for their performances in the 4-0 win against Bournemouth at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Hugo Lloris 6 – The Spurs ‘keeper barely had to lift a finger in the victory due to the outstanding performances of the outfield players. He didn’t have to make a save until the 74th minute – and it was straight at him.
Kyle Walker 6 – Walker always looked like he could cause Bournemouth problems when he got forward but didn’t really have a lot to do in defence.
Toby Alderweireld 8 – The Belgian was on hand to help open the scoring when he expertly flicked the ball on to Mousa Dembele at a corner. Josh King has been on fire recently but Alderweireld was on hand to extinguish the blazing Cherry.
Jan Vertonghen 7 – The experienced centre-back proved that he is one of the top-flight’s best defensive players in the sun at The Lane. Bournemouth could not breakdown the Belgian’s solid work.

Ben Davies 6 – Eddie Howe’s side managed to exploit Davies a couple of times when they got forward. Danny Rose’s spell on the sidelines is not going to be over any time soon but the left-back needs to do better if he wants to give Mauricio Pochettino a selection headache.
Eric Dier 7 – Dier was an absolute rock in the Spurs midfield and the visitors did not have a clue how to get past him. Victor Wanyama started on the bench but it doesn’t look as though he will be back in the midfield for a while due to this enforcer’s performance.
Mousa Dembele 8 – Scored his first goal of the season but it was his work when Bournemouth had possession that impressed the most. His break-up play and ability to pick a tackle, and a foul, are what helped keep Bournemouth at bay.
Christian Eriksen 8 – The ex-Ajax midfielder was helped by a very poor display from the visitors, but he thrives when he gets time on the ball. Bournemouth gave him exactly what he wanted at White Hart Lane and Eriksen kindly accepted their gracious gift.
Dele Alli 8 – The 21-year-old is leaving a trail of dumbfounded opponents in his wake after a string of brilliant displays. Bournemouth’s defence had no answer to Alli’s trickery and passing ability on Saturday.
Son Heung-Min 9 – No one can seem to stop the marauding South Korean international at the moment and his goal in the first half was a beautiful strike. Spurs are blessed to have such brilliant attacking options up front and the 24-year-old typifies that.
Harry Kane 8 – Provided the assist for Son’s goal in the opening period on what was a successful full return from his ankle injury. Kane showed that he is not rusty after his injury and secured the win by grabbing the third goal just after the break.
Victor Wanyama (on for Harry Kane 79min) 6
Moussa Sissoko (on for Dele Alli 84min) 6
Vincent Janssen (on for Christian Eriksen 87min) 7 – Did well when he came on to grab the late goal to round off the rout.
