Tottenham player ratings v Swansea: 3/10 must be sold
By Matt Farr
Football Insider rates the Tottenham players during their late 3-1 victory over Swansea in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Michel Vorm 6 – Called into action much more than expected. Didn’t panic, although no clean-sheet.
Ben Davies 5 – Weak defensively and in possession. Easily beaten by Jordan Ayew in the build up to Swansea’s opener. The return of Danny Rose can’t come soon enough.
Kyle Walker 6 – Often found space down the right-hand side, but his crossing was unusually poor.
Jan Vertonghen 6 – An unusually disorganised display from Tottenham’s defence in the first-half. Better in the second when changed to back-three.
Toby Alderweireld 5 – A rare off-display from the Belgian star.
Eric Dier 6 – Forced back into a centre-back role. Performs better as a midfielder, but saw his time in the role cut abruptly short.
Mousa Dembele 7 – Very positive on the ball. Distributed the ball well, and assertive in the midfield.
Christian Eriksen 8 – Was the chief creative outlet for Tottenham, but even he saw his impact limited. Missed the presence of Kane to finish things off. A superb
Dele Alli 6 – Not at his fluent best. But came up with the golden equaliser and netted his 18th goal of the season.
Moussa Sissoko 3 – Wasteful and borderline useless. Had a chance to make a real impression, but fell horribly short. Must be sold in the summer.
Son Heung-Min 5 – Showed promising movement, but lacked conviction. Offered little in the first-half. An ineffective centre-forward. Yet grabbed the all-important lead for Tottenham.
Subs:
Vincent Janssen 8 (for Sissoko 61) – The game-changer. Superb hold-up play to lead his side back into the game. Nearly had a goal to himself bar a fantastic save from Lukasz Fabianski.
Georges-Kevin N’Koudou 6 (for Davies 79)
Kieran Trippier 6 (for Son 94)
In other Tottenham news, Stan Collymore has delivered his verdict on this much-criticised Spurs attacker (not Janssen).
