Dier’s range of passing was decent and he has certainly had worse games for Spurs.
But overall he was short of the required level to see out games like this.
Watford have a good attacking squad but they had way too much time on the ball.
Players like Dier should have done more to close them down quick, win back the ball and move it on to Dembele. But that simply was not happening.
