Tottenham player who is the best in Europe for impressive metric holds the key to beating Arsenal

Tottenham return from the international break with a North London showdown against Arsenal, and one player holds the key to victory.

Spurs entered the break in fifth position – one point behind fourth-place Sunderland – after playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Since then, Thomas Frank has been struck with a huge slice of bad luck as Lucas Bergvall picked up an injury for Sweden and withdrew from the squad, while fellow midfielder Pape Matar Sarr was forced off the pitch with a knock during Senegal’s 2-0 defeat against Brazil on Saturday (November 15).

The Danish tactician will hope that neither injury is serious and both will be fit to feature against Arsenal, with one other teammate holding the key to winning.

Mohammed Kudus has completed joint-most dribbles in Europe

Tottenham confirmed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham during the summer, and the 25-year-old has instantly endeared himself to the fanbase.

Combining electric speed and power with impeccable creativity, Kudus has produced five goal involvements in 10 league matches this term.

While only one of his returns has been a goal since arriving at the club, what the Ghanaian does on the ball opens space for other players to thrive.

His ability to glide past defenders with unstoppable acceleration makes him a truly unique player, and according to Stat Muse, Kudus has completed the joint-most dribbles of any individual across Europe, even beating Lamine Yamal.

Most completed dribbles across Europe in 2025/26
Mohammed Kudus – 34
Yann Gboho – 34
Jeremy Doku – 33
Lamine Yamal – 31
Vinicus Junior – 30

As a right winger with a license to cut inside, Tottenham’s No.20 has destroyed many Premier League defences this term, though Arsenal will be the hardest he’s faced.

Kudus vs Riccardo Calafiori

The Gunners have conceded just five times in 11 matches this term, becoming the most difficult defence to breach in the competition.

Centre-back partnership Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba have assembled the foundations of their dominance, while Riccardo Calafiori has equally contributed at left-back.

Calafiori has started every single Premier League fixture ahead of teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly, and the 23-year-old has impressed with his aerial dominance and ability to defeat one-on-one.

So, with Calafiori confirmed fit to face Tottenham after an injury scare for Italy, it has teed up a potentially mouth-watering battle between him and Kudus.

Spurs will likely soak up pressure and play on the counterattack, and Kudus will fancy his chances against the Arsenal left-back with his pace and power.
