‘Tottenham players respond to Thomas Frank appointment after dressing room mutiny’

Thomas Frank’s first job at Tottenham will be to win over the players after they were left angered in the fall-out of Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal.

That is according to former Spurs and Man United scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his former clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that there are now a number of unhappy players in the dressing room at Tottenham.

A number of influential stars are believed to have disagreed with Postecoglou’s dismissal and his replacement will be left with the challenge of resolving their concerns.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 4th June that Thomas Frank was Tottenham’s first choice to be their new manager and then updated on 7th June that Spurs are close to agreeing a deal following new talks.

Preliminary talks have already taken place over the deal, and Spurs are confident the Brentford boss is keen to make the move.

While the players are expected to remain professional and stick to the task at hand under a new boss, he must act quickly to build strong relationships.

Thomas Frank told he must win over Tottenham players

Brown told Football Insider on 9 June that Frank is likely to take over at Tottenham as sporting director Johan Lange is pushing for his appointment.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience working closely with elite-level managers including the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade at Man United, backed Frank to deal with the issues presented to him at Spurs.

Every manager faces issues when going in to a new team,” he told Football Insider.

“The players there obviously have negative feelings about Postecoglou being sacked, and so they should because I hear he had very strong relationships with them.

“They’re responsible for where they were, so in part they are to blame, but by all accounts they’ve been left frustrated by the decision.

“Now, they’ll be looking at Frank and asking what has he got that Postecoglou didn’t.

“Frank is going in there, and he’s going to have to deal with that issue immediately.

“He’s got to get the players on his side, build those relationships especially with some of the more influential players, and prove he’s the right man.

“It’s difficult coming in as the new boss when the old one was so loved by the players.

“But, having said that, they’re professionals and they’ll have to get on with it.

Thomas Frank backed to succeed at Spurs

Aside from the players’ loyalties towards Postecoglou, Frank has been backed to be a success at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium should he land the job.

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider on 7 June that Frank is a “great choice” by Tottenham and would fit in well at the club.

The manager’s character has been heavily praised and his Premier League experience is seen as a key factor behind his potential appointment.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 4 June that Frank is in pole position at Tottenham as they are growing more impressed by his credentials.
