Tottenham players will be ‘off-put’ by behind-the-scenes approach – Hutton
Alan Hutton would have hated a Netflix series on the Premier League when he was at Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Aston Villa right-back understands the financial benefits of the project but insisted it’s “not ideal” for the players.
On Friday (23 September), journalist Martyn Ziegler reported in The Times that the Premier League has been approached by film company Box To Box about a series focusing on the English top flight.

The production company were also behind Formula 1’s successful Drive to Survive series, which is said to have piqued the interest of Premier League clubs including Tottenham.
The Lilywhites have already taken part in Amazon’s All Or Nothing series and are believed to be interested in the prospect of another.
Clubs are set to make a decision on the proposal once all the details are confirmed.
When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the news, Hutton said: “I think it’s brilliant for fans.
“They get an insight into what happens in the daily lives of footballers, football teams and it’s really good for them.

“Me, being an ex-footballer, would I like it? No. I wouldn’t have liked me going in to see the manager or me kicking about and you have to be careful what you say and what you do and how you act. It’s not ideal when you’re there to be with your team and try and win football games, I think it’s a little bit off-putting.
“But, I understand there will be a lot of money involved in these programmes so I do get it from that financial side. It’s really going to come down to what they want as a club. Me, as a player, I’m not big on it. It’s not for me.“
