Tottenham plot £20m Manuel Locatelli raid – sources

Tottenham are plotting a move to sign Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke confirmed that Ange Postecoglou wants another central midfielder before the transfer window closes.

The 26-year-old is on Spurs’ transfer target list and is seen as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who joined Marseille earlier this summer.

Juventus would be willing to sell Locatelli for £20million, and his versatility is seen as a bonus for Tottenham.

Spurs have had success raiding Serie A in recent times due to the input of Fabio Paratici, and this could be another example.

Locatelli is under contract with Juventus until 2028, putting them in a strong negotiating position on any potential deal.

Tottenham would gain an experienced midfielder in Manuel Locatelli

Postecoglou wants to provide more depth to his options in central midfield despite already purchasing Archie Gray this summer.

Locatelli provides lots of experience as he has made 327 appearances throughout his career and has played at a high level in Europe.

The Italy international made 40 appearances for Juventus last season, scoring once and providing six assists in all competitions.
