Tottenham plot move to sign £25m-valued Italy star – report

Tottenham are reportedly keeping a close eye on Torino midfielder Samuele Ricci as they look to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s options.

The Spurs boss has been looking to strengthen his squad in that area of the pitch, but the club missed out on Conor Gallagher during the summer.

According to HITC, Tottenham have been monitoring Ricci to keep an eye on his progress ahead of a potential move.

The 23-year-old is being valued at £25million, and Spurs scouts watched him in action during Italy’s 2-1 win against Israel on Monday.

Ricci played 86 minutes in the Nations League game, giving Spurs scouts a good chance to see what he’s capable of.

The Italian midfielder is under contract with Torino until 2026, which would make next summer their final chance to cash in on him.

Tottenham want Samuele Ricci to boost their midfield

Even though the Premier League side signed Archie Gray from Leeds in the summer, Postecoglou still wants to strengthen his team in the middle of the park.

Tottenham sold Oliver Skipp and Giovani Lo Celso in the summer, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was sent out on loan.

It has left Spurs wanting to find options in this area of the pitch, and the Italian defensive midfielder is high on their list at the moment.

Having made 96 Serie A appearances, Ricci has the experience of playing at a high level in one of Europe’s top leagues.
