Tottenham plot surprise move to re-sign star who left in 2018 – sources
Tottenham are plotting a surprise move to re-sign Chelsea star Noni Madueke this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Spurs are among a number of clubs across Europe keeping a close eye on his situation at Stamford Bridge.
This comes as Enzo Maresca has doubts about where the winger fits into his system and is prepared to sanction his exit at the end of the season.
Madueke left Tottenham’s academy setup in 2018 in favour of a move to Dutch outfit PSV as he sought improved opportunities to play first-team football.
Five years later, he made the £28.5million move to West London, but Chelsea and Maresca have concerns about his attitude and are now open to offers.
Sources say Spurs are now interested in bringing him back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and could make a move to sign him this summer.

Tottenham plot surprise Noni Madueke swoop after England claim
Following his England debut earlier this season, Madueke is keen to establish himself in Thomas Tuchel’s side and believes he needs to play regular football to achieve that goal.
He has started 21 of his 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season, but there is a growing feeling his long-term future may no longer lie at Stamford Bridge.
As a result, a return to Spurs could be on the cards as Ange Postecoglou plans to strengthen his side after a disappointing 2024-25 season.
Meanwhile, former Tottenham and Aston Villa chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 1 April that Unai Emery wants to sign Madueke this summer.
This comes after the success of Marcus Rashford during his loan spell at Villa Park – something they are keen to replicate in the upcoming window.

Ange Postecoglou eyes Eberechi Eze deal as Crystal Palace stance revealed
On top of the potential addition of Madueke, Tottenham are considering alternative options as they plan to bolster their attack this summer.
Brown told Football Insider on 27 February that Tottenham want to sign Eberechi Eze amid uncertainty about the long-term future of Son Heung-min in North London.
Now, Brown told Football Insider on 5 April that Eze is open to joining Tottenham, but Crystal Palace are determined to keep him at Selhurst Park next season.
The midfielder has a £60million release clause in his contract, but Oliver Glasner values him as a crucial part of his squad and does not want to lose another key player.
