Sources: Dane Scarlett opens talks over Tottenham deal after ‘phenomenal’ claim
Tottenham striker Dane Scarlett has opened talks with the club over a new contract, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
Spurs are looking to tie down the 18-year-old even though he only signed his first professional contract as soon as he turned 17 in March of last year.
A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that negotiations have started over a new deal that will extend Scarlett’s stay at the club.

He is also in line for a major pay hike as a reward for his development over the last year.
Scarlett has already made 10 senior Tottenham appearances after making his first-team debut as a 16-year-old in November 2020.
Seven of those have come this season, including three starts in the Europa Conference League.
His only Premier League appearance came as a substitute in the 4-0 demolition of Leeds United in February.
But Scarlett is a regular in the matchday squad and has been on the bench for all but one league fixture since mid-January.
Ex-Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has been unequivocal in his admiration of Scarlett and even spoke glowingly of him since his departure.
Speaking to the Times last July, the Portugese claimed the teen sensation “is going to be phenomenal”.
Antonio Conte appears to share the enthusiasm for the rising star, who is already firmly established as an England Under-19 international and is widely tipped for senior honours in the future.

Scarlett is not the only Tottenham youngster in talks over a new deal.
As revealed by Football Insider last Friday, Oliver Skipp, 21, has reached an agreement in principle with the club and an announcement should be made soon.
In other news, Tottenham have opened talks over giant striker transfer.
