Tottenham send scouts to watch 17-year-old goal machine - report
By Dominic Toner
Tottenham scouts have monitored Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton, according to a report.
The Mail claim that Spurs were one of 11 Premier League sides that watched the 17-year-old in action this week in Forest’s 4-1 defeat to Stoke in the FA Youth Cup.
The report details that Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Manchester United and City were among the clubs watching him at the Bet365 stadium.
It is understood that Liverpool and United are willing to make an offer for the emerging star.
Brereton has been in sensational form for Forest’s youth side this season, scoring 15 goals in 20 appearances for the Under-23s.

The forward’s standout performance came when he struck four goals in a stunning 5-0 demolition over QPR in October.
He is highly regarded at the City Ground and is expected to be promoted to the senior side in the future, but could now be offered a jump up to a Premier League side.
Football Insider verdict:
Spurs face a huge task to snap up the highly rated youngster Brereton, who has caught the attention of the elite clubs in England. The striker has been impressing with Championship club Forest and is tipped to make the breakthrough into their first-team in the near future. The north London club may have to move quickly if they want to beat off competition from the likes of Liverpool and United. However, Brereton has only shone at youth level and is yet to experience the step up in senior football. Spurs do have a strong young English core at the heart of their side, but Mauricio Pochettino would almost certainly send Brereton straight out on loan if he moved to White Hart Lane.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club’s supporters reacted on Twitter as Pochettino confirms that a midfield signing is all but done.
