Dele Alli delivers Twitter message to Wycombe after Tottenham scare
By Matt Farr
Dele Alli has praised Wycombe Wanderers for giving Tottenham a massive scare at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
The League Two side took a shock 2-0 lead at half-time, in what turned out to be a pulsating FA Cup encounter between the two sides.
Tottenham then responded with goals from Son Heung-Min and Vincent Janssen, but Wycombe once again took the lead just seven minutes from time.
However, a late double from Alli and Son spared the blushes of the Premier League title hopefuls, and condemned Wycombe to a what many will agree was an unfortunate defeat.
With Tottenham set to progress to the next round of the competition, Alli took the opportunity to pay tribute to Wycombe’s spirited display on Twitter.

Alli’s all-important goal was his 13th of the season, and coupled with five assists, represents a truly remarkable campaign for the 20-year-old midfield star.
It took some turnaround by Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but the victory extends their unbeaten run in all competitions to nine games.
It also means that they are still in with a shot winning three different trophies this season, with Spurs still in contention in both the Premier League and Europa League.
They face Belgian outfit KAA Gent in the Europa League knockout-round in February, while their Premier League campaign resumes against Sunderland on Tuesday.
The currently sit third in the league, nine points behind league leaders Chelsea.
