Tottenham set aside ‘big funds’ for summer striker signing – sources
Tottenham are ready to set aside “big funds” in their summer transfer budget to purchase a new striker, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed Spurs are laying the groundwork to sign a marquee new forward later this year – 12 months after the departure of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are performing well despite Kane’s exit but are keen to boost their firepower with a new arrival.
Heung-min Son has led the line in most fixtures in the 2023-24 campaign, notching 15 goals and eight assists in 27 games across all competitions.
Tottenham also signed ex-Chelsea forward Timo Werner on loan in the January transfer window, but the Germany international has exclusively played on the left flank this season.

Spurs have a £15million option to purchase Werner permanently – but it is believed that deal will not affect their search for a big-name new forward.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Postecoglou’s side are keen to land an A-list out-and-out striker with the potential to replace Kane long-term.
The England captain scored 213 goals in 320 Premier League outings before he departed for Germany for a reported initial fee of £82million.
Richarlison has scored 11 goals in 27 games across all competitions this season but is not seen as the long-term successor for Kane.
Tottenham sit fifth in the Premier League this term – which could be enough to land a place in the Champions League league phase in the 2024-25 campaign.
