Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele has confirmed that he has made a lot of progress in his recovery from injury and is ready to play against Arsenal this weekend.
Dembele, 30, has started to appear frequently off the bench in Spurs’ last few games after missing around a month of action with an ankle injury between September and October.
The 71-times Belgium international appeared for 45 minutes in the last game against Crystal Palace when Tottenham earned a narrow 1-0 win, and Dembele believes that has proven his fitness ahead of the upcoming North London derby at the Emirates on Saturday.
“My injury is much better. I played 45 minutes in the last game (against Crystal Palace) so it is good. Of course, I want to be playing for the team and adding my value but right now I am very optimistic and feel good,” he said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“For us every game is important but we know there is some extra vibe the for this kind of game (v Arsenal), it’s very important for us.

“Also, like the fans, we have the same goal, we want to achieve something as a club and any team that we play we want to beat, we want to win. That is the same with this game, we are aware of the importance of this derby.”
Dembele has been a star player for Tottenham over the past few seasons and has been a mainstay of Mauricio Pochettinos’s midfield.
His absence, and that of Victor Wanyama, has allowed academy product Harry Winks to emerge into the senior side on a regular basis. but it is very likely that Pochettino would want to see Dembele back as a regular feature very soon.
The former Fulham ace has made 10 appearances across all competitions this season, however only three of them have been starts as he has been gradually returning from his spell on the sidelines.
