Tottenham winger Lucas Moura has said that he was very excited by everything that the club had to offer him when deciding on making his switch from Paris Saint Germain in the January transfer market.
The Brazilian international arrived in north London in a £25million swoop on the winter window’s deadline day, and after a slow start to his career at Spurs has begun to establish himself as a regular in the first team squad under Mauricio Pochettino.
With five appearances and a goal under his belt since his arrival from France, Lucas has revealed just how excited he is by the prospect of what Tottenham have at their disposal in terms of both the quality of players and the facilities, which Spurs fans will love to hear, hoping that together they can convince more star talents to join the club.
Speaking to ESPN Brazil, he said: “I spent a very difficult seven months at PSG, I was not playing, I was training and going home, so it’s difficult for a player.
“So when that opportunity to play in a big team like Tottenham came, and when I got here I saw the facilities and the players, it got me very excited. So that’s how I said, very happy about it.”
Football Insider verdict
Everyone knows the quality Mauricio Pochettino has at his disposal in terms of the playing squad, but supporters will love to know that the training facilities are also helping bring top players to the club. It will not just be his team mates and the training ground which are keeping him so positive though; the atmosphere generated by the club and the fans will also be playing a huge factor. Tottenham fans have taken Lucas in very quickly, and for a man who was cast out of the first team set up for much of the first half of the season at PSG, that will make a huge difference. Now the fans will be hoping to see Lucas take his game to the next level, and with the support of his team mates, manager and the Lilywhite faithful, his confidence should grow to help him on his way.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are in the hunt for a midfield starlet dubbed the new Toni Kroos.
