Tottenham ‘take steps’ towards Nico Paz deal as offer laid out
Tottenham have made fresh contact over a potential move for Como star Nico Paz ahead of the January transfer window.
The North Londoners were heavily linked with a deal to bring the Argentina international to the Premier League in the summer, but were ultimately unable to secure his signature.
Football Insider revealed back in August that Tottenham viewed Paz as an alternative to Morgan Rogers, but they ended up missing out on both of those targets.
Thomas Frank and Co. have watched on as the Aston Villa star penned a new contract in the Second City recently, but they still have Paz in their sights as the January window approaches.

Paz interest mounts as £51m Inter Milan intent emerges
Real Madrid pose a major barrier to Tottenham in relation to a move for Paz, given that they hold a buy-back clause over the attacking midfielder.
Los Merengues sold the 21-year-old to Como in the summer of 2024, and have since seen him go from strength to strength in Serie A.
However, that doesn’t appear to have cooled Tottenham’s interest at all ahead of the mid-season window.
- Paz came through the academy setup at Real Madrid
- He notched 14 goal contributions for Como in his first full senior campaign last term
- He already has eight goal involvements from just 11 league games in 2025-26
The Lilywhites have made fresh contact over Paz’s availability, with interest “heating up” in the starlet once again, according to Spanish outlet AS.
Inter Milan are understood to be willing to lay out an offer of £51million for the youngster, while Spurs have already taken steps towards a deal.
Madrid’s position still poses a major issue for Spurs. They can trigger their buy-back clause for as little as £8m next summer, while it only extends to just shy of £9m in 2027.
The Spanish giants also hold a 50 per cent sell-on clause in Paz’s contract, and they are understood to have not “lost any control” over his future in recent months.
Tottenham to be delighted by Nico Paz tackling stats
Tottenham are clearly huge admirers of Paz, and they seem intent to try and secure his signature despite the power that Real Madrid currently hold over him.
| Stats | Paz Total | Serie A Rank |
| Goal Contributions | 8 | 1st |
| Key Passes | 27 | 2nd |
| Big Chances Created | 8 | 2nd |
| Successful Dribbles | 22 | 3rd |
| Tackles | 34 | 2nd |
Frank and Co. will be delighted by what they have seen from the youngster recently, as he continues to prove that he is so much more than just a creative attacking midfielder.
Paz ranks third among all Serie A players for successful dribbles this season, but his tackling stats are equally impressive.
Only Genoa’s Patrizio Masini can better his tally of 34 challenges so far in 2025-26, which showcases the work rate off the ball that will undoubtedly make him such an attractive proposition for Premier League outfits.
Spurs appear to face a big challenge to secure his services, but there should be no doubts that Paz would be an impressive signing if they could pull it off.
