‘Tottenham talks emerge over Yoane Wissa move after Bryan Mbeumo bid to Brentford’
Tottenham have held discussions about a move for Yoane Wissa after making a bid to sign his Brentford teammate Bryan Mbeumo.
Spurs are set for a major turnover this summer. Despite their victory in the Europa League ending a 17-year wait for a trophy, a 17th place finish in the Premier League has shown a clear need for change.
As a result, Ange Postecoglou has been sacked as manager, with Tottenham appointing Brentford boss Thomas Frank as his replacement.
There will of course need to be changes to the playing squad as well, and the Dane is seemingly keen to bring some familiar faces with him to North London.

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa targeted
There have been suggestions to Football Insider that Tottenham could look to hijack Man United’s move for Mbeumo from Brentford.
It has now emerged that Spurs have indeed made a £70million bid to the Bees to sign the Cameroon international, which is £10million more than the Red Devils have bid [Daily Mirror].
Mbeumo is not the only Brentford player they may target either, with an update from The Guardian stating that the North London club have also been considering a move for Wissa.
It is stated Tottenham have held discussions internally about signing the 28-year-old, who like Mbeumo has a year to go on his contract, with the Bees holding the option to extend by a further 12 months.
The duo both enjoyed excellent campaigns with Brentford during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring a combined 39 goals in the Premier League.

Tottenham double signing would be a big coup
Football Insider Verdict
It was not the easiest debut campaign for Dominic Solanke at Tottenham last season, highlighting the need for some extra attacking depth for Frank’s new side.
Following their excellent performances in 2024/25, there is no doubt that Mbeumo and Wissa would provide that.
Given both have strong connections with Frank, who was a popular figure with his Brentford squad and who has shown he can improve these players, Spurs may fancy their chances of getting deals done.
That would be a major boost given the interest from elsewhere, although Nottingham Forest have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Wissa by failing to qualify for the Champions League.
Tottenham can of course offer the duo that opportunity after their Europa League win, which may also work in their favour in this transfer race, with Man United missing out on Europe as well.
It is also worth noting that Mbeumo and Wissa have a good relationship with each other, and so signing one half of this duo, could also help Spurs’ chances of completing the set.
