‘Thomas Frank must do two things to succeed at Tottenham’: ‘Back in business’

Thomas Frank has been advised on what he must do to strengthen Tottenham once he joins the North London side from Brentford.

Tottenham are set to appoint Frank after the 51-year-old steered the Bees to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League.

But he faces the potentially daunting prospect of improving a Spurs outfit who finished just 17th in the top flight last term.

However, Frank will have the opportunity to manage Tottenham in the Champions League thanks to their Europa League triumph under Ange Postecoglou.

Frank told to sign Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo for Tottenham

Bryan Mbeumo could follow Frank from Brentford to Tottenham amid rival transfer interest from Manchester United.

The Cameroon international scored 20 Premier League goals for the Bees last season, and could be a real asset for Spurs.

Meanwhile, Antoine Semenyo could join Tottenham from Bournemouth, as the Cherries could be set to lose another star following Dean Huijsen’s Real Madrid-bound departure.

Ally McCoist asked former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara live on talkSPORT [11 June] if he was happy with Frank’s move to North London.

O’Hara replied: “I love him. I think he’s brilliant, I think he’s organised.

“I think he’ll do a great job, he deserves his opportunity to take over a big club. Hopefully, he gets us back on track. It’s a shame for Ange but you can’t lose 22 games, simple as that.

“Can we nick Mbeumo? Get Mbeumo, get Semenyo, then we’re back in business.”

Man United are set to hold talks with Brentford over Mbeumo

As alluded to by O’Hara, Frank would be in a fantastic position to help Tottenham progress if he manages to sign both Mbeumo and Semenyo this summer.

Man United are challenging Tottenham’s interest in Mbeumo

The duo helped Brentford and Bournemouth, respectively, finish in the top half of the Premier League, whereas Spurs finished just one spot above the relegation zone.

However, Man United will hold talks with Brentford over Mbeumo, which could scupper the North London club’s chances of signing the 25-year-old.

Failing to sign the former Troyes man could prove costly for Tottenham as they look to improve their performances in the Premier League alongside their Champions League duties.

Meanwhile, Man United could benefit from the services of the winger, after the Red Devils endured a similarly disappointing domestic campaign to Spurs, and were also beaten by the North Londoners in last month’s Europa League final.

Elsewhere, former Spurs scout Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News that Bournemouth could demand £65million for Semenyo.
