Michael Brown has suggested Jose Mourinho is working on a masterplan to copy Liverpool and play with four attackers to get the best out of the “unbelievable” options at Tottenham.
The former Spurs and Leeds midfielder, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has been left drooling over the attacking quality in north London, with the likes of Harry Kane, Gareth Bale and Heung-min Son all fit and available.
Mourinho started the big-name trio alongside each other for the first time against West Brom as the England striker netted the only goal of the game.
With the likes of Carlos Vinicius, Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela all vying for a place in the Spurs starting XI, Brown has suggested Mourinho may look to Anfield for inspiration and try get another attacker into his side.
Brown told Football Insider: “I think it’s great, it’s an unbelievable front three. We had the same discussions with Liverpool about their front three, they managed to squeeze four in.
“Will Mourinho squeeze more in? It’s great, Gareth Bale, once he’s fit, will be a brilliant player that we all know how well he can do in the Premier League.
“If you ask me if they’ll all be first choice against Manchester City, I’m sure he’ll try and get as many in as he possibly can. Then it’s the European fixtures after that where he can rotate.”
Heung-min Son is currently joint top-scorer in the Premier League alongside Liverpool’s Mo Salah, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin on eight goals.
However, Harry Kane’s seven strikes have helped Spurs sit as the top-flight’s second-top scoring team behind London rivals Chelsea.
