Tottenham tipped to recall Reguilon v Man United and make unpopular Hojbjerg decision – expert

Sergio Reguilon is set to return to the Tottenham starting XI for Saturday’s game against Man United.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

As reported by Jonathan Veal, Sessegnon, 21, will be out of action until after the next international break after suffering an injury against Everton on Monday (7 March).

Conte has been reluctant to change his side in recent weeks, only making one change between his last two league games.

However, Sessegnon’s absence will force the Italian’s hand and pave the way for Reguilon, 25, to return.

Wenham is hoping Oliver Skipp, 21, could also make an appearance on the bench but tipped under-fire Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg to keep his place.

“I imagine it will be the same side that started against Everton,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“We are now only playing one game a week. Sky Sports pointed out Conte does a lot better when that is the case.

“I expect the only change could be Oliver Skipp coming back in after his layoff but we don’t know how he is doing.

“That being said, even if he is fit, which he might not be, he might be set for a place on the bench because Hojbjerg has been very good in recent week and he was solid against Everton despite the criticism he’s had.

“He does a lot of the dirty work alongside Bentancur. Maybe Sessegnon will be replaced by Reguilon if his injury is long-term.”
