Tottenham to agree takeover deal? Stefan Borson drops verdict after ‘whispers’
Tottenham are set for a shake-up behind the scenes this summer after confirming two senior figures have left the club.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 1 June Spurs had decided to part ways with Ange Postecoglou, and the club officially announced his departure on 6 June.
It was also confirmed last week former executive director Donna-Marie Cullen has seen her role officially terminated at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 62-year-old, who was a close ally of chairman Daniel Levy, worked as an advisor for Spurs for 14 years before being appointed to the board in 2006.
Meanwhile, Vinai Venkatesham has taken up the position of CEO at Tottenham, having previously worked in the same role at north London rivals Arsenal between 2020 and 2024.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Cullen’s departure is likely down to Venkatesham’s appointment rather than being linked to a potential takeover.
Football Insider revealed on 5 June Tottenham are edging closer to agreeing a deal that values the club at £5billion.

Tottenham want to agree mega-money deal
Borson revealed Tottenham have been looking to bring in new investment for some time.
He told Football Insider: “There are a lot of rumours around that they’ve got an investor or a deal for a sale.
“I’m a bit sceptical because I think we’d know a bit about it. I think there’d be a bit of a leak somewhere.
“If it was the sort of usual suspects these days that were going to do the deal, out of the Middle East or something, I think we’d have heard about something.
“We know they’ve been trying to do it.
“But I think it’s more likely that it’s about a new CEO starting because the actual appointment at Companies House was announced last week at the same time that Cullen left.
“So, if I had to put money on it, I’d say it was more to do with that than it was to do with new investment coming in.”

Son Heung-min could quit Tottenham after Saudi interest
In another potential exit, Son Heung-min could have played his last game for Tottenham following interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.
The 32-year-old is approaching his 10-year anniversary as a Spurs player after joining the club from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015, but he may not reach that landmark following rumours of a summer exit.
Tottenham triggered a one-year extension to his contract in January, but he could push to leave over the coming weeks after seeing his impact diminish in the latest campaign.
