Tottenham to dominate rivals for years to come after giant transfer bombshell report
One crucial factor which is often forgotten but must be commended at Tottenham is just how young the majority of the senior squad actually is.
All the footballing cliches say that to have success a team must have a good balance of youth and experience but at Spurs, it is heavily weighted in favour of the young talents rather than those who have been around the block.
Jan Vertonghen, Hugo Lloris and Mousa Dembele are the only regular stars who are above the age of 26, with the majority of the experienced figures in the squad around the fringes of the first team.
Some might say that Spurs need more proven winners among their side in order to avoid disappointing defeats at crucial times, such as being knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup this season, but those experiences will only help the young group of players grow together.
Now it looks like the Lilywhites could well have another future talent on their hands over summer – and it could mean they dominate their rivals for years to come.

The Sun claim that Spurs have lined up Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt as the replacement for the exit-bound Toby Alderweireld, with Chelsea joining the hunt for the Belgian powerhouse in a double bombshell.
At 29-years-old, Alderweireld is at the peak of his powers, but de Ligt, valued at £45million, has already established himself as a top talent despite his tender age of just 18, and so he can be considered a very long-term fix following what will be viewed as a disappointing exit.
Whether he would head straight into the first team remains to be seen, but with Spurs star Davinson Sanchez, his former partner at Ajax, just 21-years-old, the future would be shining very bright at the heart of defence when Jan Vertonghen eventually leaves or hangs up his boots.
Premier League attackers beware – Spurs are set to have a powerhouse duo for the foreseeable future.
