Tottenham to finally give Cristian Romero what he wants amid damning Thomas Frank admission
Cristian Romero has continually provided problems for Tottenham amid their struggles in recent years.
The club captain has played 19 times for the Lilywhites in the Premier League so far this season, as Thomas Frank has relied upon him heavily amid a difficult start to his reign.
Romero has become a key player for Tottenham at the heart of their defence, but he has regularly caused issues for the club hierarchy, with near-constant interest in his services on the side.
Atletico Madrid were heavily linked with a move for the centre-back in the summer, and although the 27-year-old penned a new long-term deal in North London, it has done little to provide security over his future.

Thomas Frank out of patience with Cristian Romero
Romero hit out at Tottenham in an Instagram post earlier this week, as he called their current injury crisis “unbelievable” and “disgraceful.”
It is far from the first time that the defender has used his social media platforms to express strong frustration towards his club, and it has quickly become clear that Frank is losing his patience with his star man.
The Dane was asked about Romero’s future in his press conference ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Manchester United, and rather alarmingly suggested that he “has no idea” whether he will be at the club next term.
That is a damning revelation from the boss, and suggests that Tottenham as a whole are almost at the end of their tether with Romero.
The former Atalanta man has consistently stirred the pot in North London with plenty of disciplinary issues in recent months, and it is surely with the intention of pushing for a move.
The interest in a player of his quality never truly goes away, and with that in mind, Spurs may finally be about to give him what he wants and sanction his departure in the summer, after he has continued to push their buttons.
Atletico Madrid ‘ready to pounce’ for Romero once again
Romero is clearly not content at Tottenham at the moment, and he looks set to have the option of a move away presented to him once again in the summer.
Atletico Madrid are showing an interest in him again, according to The Sun, as they appear prepared to offer him a route away from Spurs this summer.
The Spanish giants ultimately pulled out of their chase to sign him last time due to their inability to raise the required funds, but it is understood that they are “ready to pounce” on him this year.
Romero only signed his bumper new contract at Spurs after it had become clear that the chances of a move to Atletico had faded, which certainly suggests that he was willing to wait as long as possible to try and make the deal happen.
He appears to be angling in that direction again at the moment, and with Tottenham surely growing sick of the hassle that he provides, it could be time for them to agree to part ways.
