Tottenham to ‘kick Cristian Romero out’ after he goes too far this time
Tottenham are preparing to accept offers for Cristian Romero come the end of the season amid a turbulent week for their club captain.
Romero was sent off as Thomas Frank’s side lost 2-0 to Man United at the weekend, adding to the growing feeling of annoyance around the defender.
This came after the 27-year-old aimed a dig at the club’s recruitment on social media and his criticisms of the club and their decisions went viral.
Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Spurs are now hoping to move Romero on as “they don’t want him” after his recent behaviour.
Both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid showed an interest in Romero last summer, and should that interest be reignited, he could be allowed to leave.

Tottenham plan to accept new Cristian Romero offer
Brown told Football Insider on 3 February that Romero is causing problems at Tottenham with his recent comments not going down well behind the scenes.
His on-pitch performance in the immediate aftermath of those comments is now believed to have left many raging, and he will be allowed to move on this summer.
“Tottenham have had concerns about Romero for a while,” Brown told Football Insider.
“Everybody knows he’s got this in him, a stupid moment which can throw the game away, and it’s come after what has been a nightmare week for him.
“You can’t have your captain and leader making mistakes like that.
“You also can’t have the club captain coming out aiming digs at the way they operate, even if the fans agree with him, he won’t get away with it.
“If they can, they want to get rid of him in the summer because all he is doing at the moment is causing issues, no matter how good he can be at his best. They don’t want him around.
“In any other walk of life, if you criticise your bosses in public, chances are they’re going to get rid of you and the way he’s acted recently, Tottenham will want to kick him out.
“There was interest from Madrid in the summer, if they come back in for him then it will give them an excuse and I expect they will let him go.”
Thomas Frank sack update as Mauricio Pochettino lined up
Romero is not the only person causing issues in what has become a toxic environment at Tottenham, as fans have also largely turned on the manager.
Tottenham fans have demanded Frank be sacked following what has been a miserable season for the manager, particularly in terms of his Premier League form.
Spurs have gone seven games without a win in the league, despite their Champions League exploits, and are now just six points clear of the relegation zone.

Brown told Football Insider last month that Tottenham could be forced to sack Frank if his strained relationship with the supporters gets any worse.
Following another defeat at Old Trafford and growing concerns about being dragged closer to the relegation zone, it feels like there is no way back.
