Tottenham told to complete signing of ‘outstanding’ Jaden Philogene by expert
Tottenham have been urged to make a formal move for Hull City ace Jaden Philogene.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton hailed the attacker for his “outstanding” performances for the Tigers this season.
The former Aston Villa attacker moved to the MKM Stadium last summer on a four-year deal for a reported £5million, but Unai Emery’s side have a buy-back clause of £15million which is activated if Hull City get promoted.
Tottenham are reportedly among many clubs exploring a move for the 22-year-old, who has scored eight goals and provided six assists across 22 appearances in the Championship.
Jaden Philogene “ticks a lot of boxes” for Tottenham
Hutton admitted that Spurs should be eyeing signings who can make an immediate impact on the starting line-up, but saw no issue with the club planning for the future.
“I think you need to look at young and experienced players,” he told Football Insider.
“There has to be a balance.
“He ticks a lot of boxes and I don’t think Villa should have let him go, to be honest.
“His performances have been outstanding, absolutely amazing, so they can look to the future.
“To bring in a young and hungry player who works hard and has the technical ability to fit into their way of thinking is good moving forward.
“But you need to add that quality right now.
“It’s about getting that mixture right.”
